• Aug: Ali and Hadi's paper entitled "Anomalous Features in Internal Cylinder Flow Instabilities subject to Uncertain Rotational Effects" was accepted for publication in the Physics of Fluids (PoF) journal.
• Jun: Eduardo's paper entitled "Data-Driven Failure Prediction in Brittle Materials: A Phase-Field Based Machine Learning Framework" was accepted for publication in the Journal of Machine Learning for Modeling and Computing.
• Jun: Dr. Mohsen Zayernouri was promoted to associate professor of mechanical engineering & statistics and probability at MSU, effective July 1st, 2020.

• Jun: Dr. Mohsen Zayernouri gave an invited talk on “Emerging Role of Fractional Modeling in Anomalous Flow Phenomena” in 2019 AIAA Aviation and Aeronautics Forum and Exposition, Theoretical Fluid Dynamics session, Dallas, TX.

• Feb: Dr. Mohsen Zayernouri is awarded a $200K Seed Grant for one year, effective Feb. 1st, 2019, from the US ARL on "Phase-Field-Based Subgrid Scale Modeling of Material Failure: A Nonlocal Approach"
• Feb: The entire FMATH group attended the SIAM Conference on Computational Science and Engineering (SIAM-CSE19) in Spokane, WA. Dr. Zayernouri and Jorge presented invited talks.
• Jan: Dr. Ehsan Kharazmi joined Brown University as a postdoctoral research associate.
• Jan: Dr. Mohsen Zayernouri has been awarded $650K for two years, effective Jan. 1, 2019, from the US ARO Division of Mathematical Sciences as the MSU-PI of the following ARO/MURI grant: "Fractional PDEs for Conservation Laws and Beyond: Theory, Numerics, and Applications".
